After high school, Tonya received her degree in Graphic Design, but subsequently, working in the field for a few years, she realized a part of her was missing. As a child, she grew up playing sports and realized the corporate world was not the best fit for her. She loves to move and has a passion to help others on their health and fitness journey. In 2017, she graduated with her bachelor's degree in Exercise Science from the university of Kansas. While studying, she also obtained her USATF level I running certification, RRCA level I & II certification, and NSCA CSCS certification.
She loves running (half marathons preferred) and strength training, as it provides mental clarity and a sense of accomplishment like nothing else in her life. Her experience in training is diverse in age and experience with new comers to athletes. With her creative background, she is able to cater to each individual's needs, while keeping the training fun and engaging. Her goal as a trainer is to keep people focused on the intangible achievements such as feeling better, gaining energy, and becoming stronger mentally and physically.
